Inference Angels is a collection of 7,777 pixel-art angels on Robinhood Chain. Each angel sits behind a puzzle. To claim an angel, you solve its puzzle. To solve its puzzle, you run a free, downloadable AI model on your own computer. Running a model is called inference, and that is the mining work here.
Bitcoin miners earn coins by making computers grind through math. This collection works the same way, but the grinding is AI work instead of math. Each puzzle names one exact AI model, run with its randomness turned off, so the model gives the same answer on every machine, every time. If you own a phone, a gaming PC, a Mac, or a small AI box, you already own mining equipment. No angel needs more than one NVIDIA DGX Spark, a desk-size AI computer.
Claiming an angel costs nothing. There is no fee to the creator. You spend only your own electricity and your own time.
Every angel holds a chain of small tasks for its AI model. There are two kinds of task:
The tasks chain together: part of each reply feeds the next task. A digital fingerprint (a hash — a short code computed from text, impossible to reverse) is taken after every step. The final fingerprint is the angel's answer. The puzzle publishes a fingerprint for each step, so you always know your work is on track, and you know right away if a step went wrong.
The blockchain never sees your text, only fingerprints. Claiming takes two steps: first you submit a sealed version of your answer that is tied to your wallet, then you open it. This two-step seal means nobody watching the network can steal your answer while it is in flight.
The wall is split into 77 difficulty bands, and each band names one exact model file. Low bands use tiny models that run on any phone. The top bands need a serious home rig: one RTX 3090 class graphics card, or one DGX Spark. Each model file has a fixed fingerprint, published below, so you can prove your download is the right file. The mining tool checks this before it lets you start.

Why every miner gets the same answer. AI models normally roll dice when they write, so replies vary from run to run. Here the dice are turned off. With the fixed settings (temperature 0, top_k 1, top_p 1, min_p 0, repeat penalty 1.0, seed 1, no prompt cache), the model always picks its single most likely next word. The official setup is one exact program (llama.cpp, build b10360) running on an ordinary CPU, because CPU math comes out identical on every computer on earth. Run that way, the same question gives the same reply on every machine, letter for letter. Every model on the ladder was tested with repeated identical runs before it was chosen.
Graphics cards are welcome. The puzzles check fingerprints, and a fingerprint cannot match unless the text is exactly right — so a correct answer counts no matter what hardware produced it. Mine on the fastest thing you own. A graphics card gives the same reply as the CPU almost every time. On the rare step where it drifts, the fingerprint simply will not match, and you redo that one step on the CPU. The CPU is the referee, not the requirement.
The 7,777 angels stand in nine choirs, following the traditional Catholic ordering of the angelic hierarchy. Rarity climbs steeply: the higher an angel's number, the rarer its choir and the harder its puzzle. Only twelve Seraphim exist, and No. 7777 is the last of them.
The wall keeps its 77 bands of 101 angels each. Bands set the puzzle difficulty and the model, and both rise with the numbers, so the twelve Seraphim sit behind the hardest puzzles and the biggest model.
The art is 32×32 pixel work that lives entirely on the blockchain. Two contracts hold every sprite, color, and trait rule, and they draw each angel's image and details on demand. No outside server hosts anything, so the art can never go missing. Every angel carries a verse from the Douay-Rheims Bible in its on-chain description. No two angels are the same: a check across all 7,777 proves every trait list and every image is one of a kind.
The whole wall is open from day one. Every puzzle is published at the start, and every angel's look is already visible in the Codex. Nothing is locked and nothing waits its turn. Mine No. 89 because you love its colors. Mine No. 777 for the number. Go straight for the last Seraph if your machine can carry the top model. The only rule: each angel can be claimed once.
333 angels are the genesis set, which the creator keeps at launch. They are spread fairly, about 4.3% of every choir, at evenly spaced numbers (Angels 90, Archangels 67, Principalities 62, Powers 52, Virtues 43, Dominions 14, Thrones 3, Cherubim 1, Seraphim 1). The one genesis Seraph is No. 7,766, the first of the twelve. The last Seraph, No. 7,777, is not held back. The crown must be earned. The other 7,444 angels can only enter the world through a solved puzzle.
Three things you should know before you trust this project:
The collection lives on Robinhood Chain, which works like Ethereum. Claiming is free; you pay only the small network fee. The contract enforces three things and nothing more: each angel can be claimed once, claims use the two-step seal, and the art lives on-chain. All 7,777 puzzles are published at once, so every miner sees the same wall and can go after any angel on it. Contract addresses will be published on this site at launch. The collection is in its test season now; the real wall comes after.
